Buckpool Golf Club

The recent history of Buckpool Golf Club is quite interesting. In the early sixties Buckie town council closed the course for economic reasons, but a group of enthusiasts formed a private club and leased the course back. In 1999 the club purchased the land from Moray Council.
The first picture below on the right shows the magnificent view from the 7th tee. A great driving hole with trouble on both sides, care should also be taken not to go to far, unless you can fade the ball around the corner.
Below that is a picture of the 15th tee, an intimidating hole indeed. You stand on an elevated tee and drive over a valley filled with gorse and thick bushes with the added hazard of out of bounds on the right. If you carry the 150 yards without mishap the rest is easy. The view from the tee is spectacular.
Following on is the par 5 16th where an accurate drive is a must. Gorse and bushes lie on both sides of a narrow fairway.
This links style course is surely one the Scotland's best kept secrets. Slightly elevated above the sea, it boasts superlative views across the Moray Firth. This is a first class seaside test of ability.
